T10 Epoxy is a two-component epoxy designed as a waterproofing sealant for use on concrete substrates and meets the specification for TxDOT OMS-6100 Type X Epoxy.
Proper surface preparation is imperative for maximum service life. The concrete surface to be bonded should be cleaned of all dirt, oil, grease, loose particles, and previous coatings. This is best achieved by sandblasting and/or waterblasting, then ensuring that the surface is completely dry.
Mix equal parts by volume of Resin Part A and Catalyst Part B as packaged by the manufacturer. It is recommended that a mechanical agitator be used, such as an electric drill with a mixing paddle attached. After mixing for at least three minutes, and allowing an "incubation" period of about 15 minutes, the epoxy may then be applied.
Apply a thin, uniform film of mixed epoxy to the substrate to be coated by the use of a short nap roller or brush. The epoxy may also be sprayed, but thinning will probably be required. Use ICS #45 Epoxy Thinner at no more than 15% reduction. The epoxy coating requires about 8 hours of set time before it may be handled. While most of the epoxy bond strength will be achieved in 48 hours, full cure strengths will be reached after 7 days.
T10 Epoxy is designed to be used on substrates with surface temperatures above 50°F. If used at lower temperatures, full cure may not be achieved until the surface temperature exceeds 50°F for the full 7 day cure period.
