SURFACE PREPARATION and APPLICATION

Proper surface preparation is imperative for maximum service life. The concrete surface to be bonded should be cleaned of all dirt, oil, grease, loose particles, and previous coatings. This is best achieved by sandblasting and then vacuuming the surface. It is recommended that the substrate to be repaired be dry and have an ambient core temperature above 55°F for best results.

Mix the entire contents of the complete unit of Part A and Part B (2 gallons total) as supplied by the manufacturer. It is recommended that a mechanical agitator be used, such as an electric drill with a mixing paddle attached. Mix for at least three minutes in order to achieve a uniform grey color.

The second mixed unit may be filled with up to 100 pounds of 20/40 mesh sand, or to even greater loading levels if a coarser aggregate is used. This grout solution is then poured onto the epoxy primed substrate and leveled as required. The area to be repaired may be diked as necessary to contain the epoxy grout material.

For the anchoring of vertical rebar or dowel bars, it is recommended that the epoxy be used straight (with no grout fillers). A typical system requires a bored hole at a specified depth with a diameter that is 1/8 inch greater than the diameter of the bar to be anchored.
